Wind / Stille [Be / Calmed]

Two rulers, two ways of thinking, two sides. Always two. Naturally. They meet, it creates a conflict. A tragic conflict. Resolution. Applause. We all learned. Many thanks!

/ And then suddenly it gets quiet. /

What happens if the expected conflict does not take place? What happens when feelings of stagnation and helplessness meet with increasing radicalization? What happens if there is no storm which could hierarchal orders set in motion?

/ How does the standstill feel? /

Maybe like one of those endless days on the beach, where people are incredible close without getting close to each other? Unbearable heat. Actually unbearable, if nothing happens...

/ And so we wait for the conflict that has to come. Or? /

Based on Shakespeares The Tempest,  the play reflects diffuse fears of our time.

Premiere: May 29, 2017, Theater Drachengasse, Vienna, Austria.
